Busker outside Woolies in Perth. Busker playing the fiddle outside Woolies in Perth while passer-by dances - more interesting though is the signage for the Perth Indoor Market on Mill Street - now… wait for it, a car park.
Bloke studying race card at Perth Races. Shot on a long lens of bloke reading race card in newspaper at Perth Races.
Jason Moran in the Nortel, Coupar Angus. Jason and I had a bit of a pinball problem for a while - I swear I thought I was Tommy for a bit. Anyway, here’s Jason in the Nortel playing pinball.
Nortel Leisure disco, Coupar Angus, 1989. Not an amazing pic but shows how busy the Nortel disco was on a Friday night in Coupar Angus. This was shot just before Christmas.Might be Mikey Hamilton in the foreground?
Bloke with Go sign on Hospital Street, Perth. Just a happy snap, most probably shot on a 105mm lens in Hospital Street in Perth
Bookie at Perth Races. Happy snap on a long lens of a bookie mid tic tac at Perth Races.
The Laundrette, Alexandra St, Perth. This was taken 25 years ago and I’ve just looked on Google street view and it looks like this building is no different to this day - love that!
Selfie. Photographed in the chip shop on George Square, Coupar Angus on a Rollei 35B that although not being the best, did get a lot of use over the years.
Van push, South St Johns Place, Perth. I think this was shot in South St Johns Place in Perth. Haven’t a clue whose van it was but I do know that in the pic is Chris Menzies and Colin Greig - unsure of the rest.
Woolies, Perth, 1992. I like this pic - lots going on. Happy snap of small group of girls sheltering in Woolies doorway. Love the window display and that girls jacket - oh and the signs to the indoor market on Mill Street.
On Kinnoull Causeway, Perth. Nothing special about this picture at all but it reminds me (kinda) of a BW still picture at the end of ‘Minder’ with George Cole which makes me smile.
Jason Moran & David Doig heated discussion. Think this was taken outside the chip shop in George Square - Jason Moran and David Doig arguing about something probably irrelevant.
The fish van outside Freddie Stewarts, Coupar Angus. This is the Pittenweem fish van sitting at the Cross in Coupar Angus - think it came on a Wednesday and the van from Gourdon came on a Friday - that’s the one we used as my old man was from that neck of the woods. Also reasonably sure that’s Dinah Petrie walking past - she had that jacket / shopping bag combo for years, very distinctive (unless I’m wrong that is).
Production Department, Perthshire Advertiser. I started in the PA in 1993 and left in 2000 I think. I started off as a mac op in the case room and looked after colour production before I left. Here’s Mikey Dalton in a familiar pose doing fuck all in the ‘Creative Services’ department. The machine to the left output the page negatives.
Bloke doing pony rides on the North Inch, Perth. Happy snap of a bloke doing pony rides on the North Inch at Rose Terrace.
